Channel the spirit of Saints and Madonnas this summer with Cristiana’s range of Aztec inspired jewellery.
This Sydney-based accessories house is already renowned for its Isabella bracelets, which are available in eight bright colours, each with their own special spiritual charm, representing love, success, protection and peace.
Cristiana’s charming jewellery collections combine glass beads, ribbon, suede and sterling silver trinkets to subtly bring mystical elements into your life.
For a boho look wear them with your favourite maxi dress and a pair of super hot sandals.
Stack them together, wear on their own or give one to each of your BFFs to elevate fashionable karma within the group.
Spotted on Hilary Duff, Elle Macpherson and Cheyenne Tozzi.
PS. Things have admittedly been quiet of late. I have been quite unwell and spent the last week in hospital. On the mend now, so House of Turtle will be back on track very soon. Don’t leave me dear readers, I have not forgotten you. xox
Things have been a little tough of late. I’ve been juggling conflicting demands, fending off negative criticisms, questioning my future aspirations, and then avoiding/ ignoring the people who want me to fail, and those who try to make it hard for me and others to reach their aspirations.
It’s certainly been challenging, but I always try to find ways to manage it and stay up-beat (though I have been known to turn to extravagant shopping trips and alcohol). It doesn’t always work… so, I called in a helping hand to fend off the negativity!
The Hamsa hand is an ancient amulet which is known for its magical protection from the evil eye. It is said to bring good luck, protect you from harm and ward off those nasty evil wishers (and envious stares).
*hands clasped in prayer position* – Be gone negativity… Serenity is now.
Guys, leather is once again a big hit this year. However, if you can’t afford to go all out on a leather jacket, or in some cases it just looks plain silly on you, you can try other leather alternatives. One of my favourites is the men’s leather cuff. It gives a strong, slightly rough edge, particularly if teamed with a preppy shirt and a pair of jeans. Hmmm… yum!
It’s always the big question on our lips (or on our hips) – do I look fat in this? Now, thanks to Jessica Kagan Cushman’s ‘Word’ bracelets, we’re starting to question whether our bracelets make us look fat too (or was it all those chocolates over Easter?). I pity the poor man that ever responds with a ‘Yes’. He might find a scrimshaw imprint on his forehead.
Cushman made a big impact on the style scene when her original scrimshaw-style bracelet designs were said by the fashion press to be ‘imitated’ by the likes of Chanel and D&G. Cushman’s snappy come back to this was to create a Ripped off by Chanel bracelet, which sold like crazy.
House of Harlow 1960 has finally arrived! Miijo (my fave online shopping indulgence) are the exclusive stockist of Nicole Ritchie’s fabulous jewellery collection, named after daughter Harlow. Inspired by the bohemian, gypsy and flower power looks of the ’60s and ’70s, this fabulous range is made of gold-plated metals, leather, fabrics, chains and rivets, and is designed to be mixed and matched, stacked and layered. It mirrors Ritchie’s own unique style of soft and edgy – hard and soft. And, I’m loving it!
I placed my pre-order with Miijo months ago for the Double Sunburst Stations Necklace, and it finally arrived today (it probably wasn’t that long ago, but it really felt like it, considering they normally deliver pretty much the next day if it’s in stock). I put the necklace on immediately and flaunted it around the office. The guys were unimpressed and thinking I should get back to writing brochures, but I got many oohs and aahs from the girls. We all agreed that it truly completed my chosen outfit for the day – which consisted of a black dress, a cropped Fleur Wood lace vest, short tan boots, silver Metalicus tights, and lots of leather and gold jewelery. Success!
Check out the full House of Harlow range at Miijo… there’s funky cuffs, chunky rings, and some great stackable rings and bracelets. This is definitely a label worth watching… affordable too.
PS. Ok, here’s the truth. I already knew the necklace was arriving this morning. So, when I got dressed, I kind of had the necklace in mind… it didn’t all just ‘magically’ happen. Miijo send an email letting you know when your order is on its way. 😉
Just after I put up my post about Mimco’s leggings… they sent me an email announcing their Spoil Yourself offer… nice one. For a limited time you can get 20% off at Mimco.
You can check out what’s on offer online now… the offer starts tomorrow (19th March) online and in store and ends on Sunday 22nd March.
Hurry, now’s your chance to grab that Button Zip Top Bag you’ve been jealously watching the other girls carry around, or make a statement with the fabulous Deco Hinge watch, which almost doubles as a bracelet. My money’s once again on old favourite, the Tough Love chunky wrist. So far, I’ve got one in black, brown and turquoise (purchases made over several years). Might be time to add a white one to the collection. They’re great on their own or teamed with bangles, charm bracelets or whatever you feel like.
